Here’s some more information about Emotional Terrorists:

Emotional terrorism is abuse that involves psychologically manipulating, coercing, or intimidating another person. Moreso, it includes excuses to justify the behavior and avoiding taking responsibility for it. Emotional terrorists often use excuses such as “you made me do it” or “I had no other choice.”

It’s not uncommon to experience “unexplained” anger, guilt, fear, low self-esteem and depression when you’ve been barraged by this kind of behavior. Classic signs of emotional terrorism include the abuser denying their own behavior or blaming you for it; using threats to control or manipulate; isolating you from family or friends; monitoring or spying on your activities; and verbal or, even, physical abuse.

If this is happening to you or someone you know, it is important to be gentle with yourself or another – and to understand that it can be difficult for to break away from the cycle of abuse.By gaining knowledge and skills, victims of emotional terrorism can become empowered to take back control of their lives.
