“Hijackals™” is a term coined by me, Dr. Rhoberta Shaler for “people who hijack relationships, for their own purposes, while relentlessly scavenging them for power, status, and control.”
We think of them as difficult people…at a minimum. I think they fall into the category of chronically and relentlessly difficult people! Everyone has trouble with them at some time, and those at home have trouble with them most of the time.
Is this sounding familiar? You may be with a Hijackal.
Knowing clinical terms for what might be going on with your partner, ex, parent, or adult child doesn’t really help you when you’re dealing with the relationship daily. That’s why I created the term, Hijackals.
I help their partners, ex’s, adult children, and co-workers name, see, and recover from what has been–and is–crazy-making behavior and interaction. That’s why I removed the psychological labels and made clear the pool of traits from which Hijackals drink!
My latest ebook, Escaping the Hijackal Trap: The Truth About Hijackals & Why They’re Crazy-Making, is available on Amazon to download immediately.
People with chronic passive-aggressive behaviors are Hijackals.
